Create an ordering app for the eatery "Everyone Eats". It is situated in Nigeria's capital city, Abuja. We are creating a meal-ordering app to draw customers in and retain them in our online system. Especially people who have allergies and those who want to schedule their meals ahead of time. I noticed that successful competitors offer dedicated mobile apps for their customers to place orders, so we aim to create a product with even greater value propositions in order to compete in the market, increase sales, and increase customer satisfaction.

It follows a user-centered design methodology. In each stage of the design process, the user and their needs come first. I went through each step of the design process to ensure that it produced the best possible outcome.

To better understand the requirements of the users I am designing for, I conducted interviews and made empathy maps. Entrepreneurs and working adults who don’t have ample time to cook were one of the main user groups discovered through research. This user group confirmed my initial assumptions about our potential targets.
Research also revealed that working adults would love to schedule meals to be delivered later. There were other issues, such as customization of meals to control allergies, added tax or hidden charges, and challenges that made going to restaurants in person difficult.

The Low-Fidelity Prototype connects the user flows of scheduling an order, customizing your meal to your preferences, paying, and tracking your food on the app, so the prototype could be used in a usability study with users.

I conducted two rounds of usability studies with seven participants of different demographics, like age, gender, and income. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to digital mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed which aspects of the mockups needed refining for an even better experience. By watching the participants interact with the app and hearing their thoughts, I was able to identify problem areas in the app’s design. The results were noted down, and an affinity diagram was used to identify common patterns in the issues raised. This helped me gain insights on possible iterations that needed to be made.
